With summer winding down, I hope others are filled with the balancing act of existential dread and giddy excitement. Like the first day of school! Do we ever lose that feeling? 

I am thinking of all the things I didn’t get to do this summer that I said I would and how I want to do them wearing a sweater! But not till October. NO SWEATERS IN LA UNTIL OCTOBER.

Okay, well suddenly it’s cool to watch the Emmys? Thanks for that Eugene and Dan you know I want you be in your family. 

Some Emmy highlights that made me smile were the following: 

  1. JOHN OLIVER wins Outstanding Scripted Variety Series and pays a thoughtful tribute to someone special.

  1. HACKS for Comedy Series, and many more including Writing for a Comedy Series (writing team goals)

  1. ALEX EDELMAN wins Writing for a Variety Special

Round Up: 

  1. 30 Rock Rewatch- Cranking all the way through it. Feels like it’s going to be formative.

  2. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice- Okay if you were a weird Tim Burton kid like me, you may have been stoked as I was for this movie to come out (I wore a tasteful all black to the AMC at the Grove last weekend to see it). Held true to the story and the style, a lot of laughs, and Jenna Ortega was the perfect way in to modernizing it a classic 80s franchise! Loved it.
